The first International Smart Space Exhibition successfully enhanced smart connectivity and fostered industry collaboration

13 Oct 2025

Hangzhou, 13 October 2025. The inaugural edition of International Smart Space Exhibition (ISSE) took place at the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center from 25 – 29 September 2025. Held concurrently with the Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE), the two events recorded over 257,000 visits, all keen to explore advancements in the smart space sector. Meanwhile, ISSE collaborated with industry players to gain insights into end-users’ demands, working together to define new pathways for technological advancement and connectivity.

Under the theme of “Shaping the future of smart space”, ISSE hosted approximately 160 brands showcasing products and solutions in the areas of “Intelligent Buildings and Smart Parks”, “Urban Public Spaces”, “Smart Commercial Spaces” and “Smart Living”. Highlighted brands included: KNX China (GVS, Schneider, HDL, EaseMore, ABB, Siemens and Legrand), HONYAR, Léwin, Roleds, Chint Group, EnOcean Alliance, Panasonic, Zhejiang Construction Investment Group, the technical research institute of Zhejiang Communications Investment Group Co Ltd, Zhejiang Jinggong Construction Group Co Ltd, the Architectural Design & Research Institute of Zhejiang University, Kezhu Assembly Technology, Samsung, Lenovo, Barco, WOW Office, CTP, Meixiang and more.

The debut edition featured distinct product zones tailored for various applications, presenting cutting-edge technologies across zero-carbon parks, intelligent buildings, energy management, smart living, smart offices, smart construction, data centres, smart water management, smart gerontechnology, and smart hotels.

The “Zero-Carbon Smart Space Experience” zone, developed in partnership with Siemens, presented the progression from energy self-sufficiency to intelligent regulation and environmental perception. The “ISSE X Léwin Artistic Smart Space Experience” zone, blending technologies with art, AI and the Metaverse, showcased immersive applications for smart gerontechnology, smart society and smart commercial spaces.

In addition, ISSE’s pioneering “Data Centre” zone highlighted products and services across four key areas: power supply and distribution, temperature control and cooling, computing power support, as well as construction and operational maintenance. This initiative allowed visitors to gain a clear understanding of how data centres are constructed and managed.

Furthermore, the “Global Digital Space Brand Zone” featured remarkable projects and case studies from the industry. Elsewhere, the “Global Engineering Design Top 50 Brands Awards” awards ceremony and the “45 Under 45 International Outstanding Young Designer” awards reinforced the shared belief within the industry that digitalisation strengthens the real economy, while design addresses human needs. The events were jointly organised by Global Engineering Design Preferred Brands Laboratory and ISSE, with planning conducted by First Design.

ISSE arranged a series of guided tours and international business matching sessions, attracting a number of visitor groups from around the globe to attend the show. These efforts created a dynamic platform for industry exchange and collaboration.

Members of the local council from Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, along with their representatives based in China, participated in the ISSE Opening Ceremony. They sought to explore opportunities within the smart space sector and foster closer collaboration between Chinese and Korean companies.
